Been in the hospital most of today getting some scans done on my failing kidney...so...haven't really eaten anything today. Just finished eating some bread and cheese.

Nope, it's on the way out, slowly. Been having issues with it since I was about 14 and it's just slowly shutting down now. Speaking to a nephrologist about whether or not it's worth having surgery to try to remove some scar tissue and blockages that have lodged into the lining of the kidney and see if that helps, or if it's just too far gone now to worry about. So yeah, may be down a kidney here soon, and then we start worrying about all that goes along with that (the other one getting overworked and also shutting down, blood toxicity, etc.), but it's a ways off at this point and we'll see how things play out. That's only ONE of my many current health issues, I really won the lotto when it comes to health issues

Getting a donor not an option? I mean I know you can live with only one but it can be stressful. That's one of the many options my Nephrologist and I are discussing, not sure if I'm a candidate or not, if it would help or if that kidney could also end up going wrong, etc. It's a long and bumpy road

. I also joked I'm going to write a book one day called Around the World in 80 ERs, seeing as I've been to so many different hospitals in so many different places. Hell, me having a diabetic seizure right after we moved to AZ is how we met our neighbors back in 2001. So, I guess I'm also handy to have around for that .

I might one of these days, I really might! Could go into detail about how many times I've been to the ER with pain issues that now I'm on some sort of list where they assume I'm only there for the drugs so I don't get pain meds most of the time. In spite of the fact that I hate pain meds and only take one or two of the prescribed amount when I'm at my worst, but whatever, I know now not to waste my time if I'm in pain, just ride it out! Could be a whole chapter of the book right there!

Yeah, it's something I should probably write. If I get the time I'll try and at least get an outline going, because you're right. There could be others in a similar position who just need a bit of a boost to let them know they're not alone and it'll be ok, even if it sucks a bit just now.

I just had potato wedges from Jack in the Box. They were very mediocre, but since KFC doesn't have them anymore...

Agreed, they reached the point for me where the wedges were all I went there for, now...welp, I don't go there at all! Just recently lost Long John Silvers, too, since Malt Vinegar shortages mean they no longer stock it, so no more chips and vinegar...only thing I went there for, so...there goes that. Come on, 2020, bugger off!
I mean the biscuits at KFC are still lovely but everything else sucks. I only had Long John Silvers hushpuppies. Never had anything else from them. Do they still do those?
