I think it is more a less a woman thing needing to see themselves in movies
Lemme ask some of my friends if they want her to represent them.
The trope is that most women need to see themselves in characters to relate to them either through story telling or visually to enjoy something. That is the excuse anyways for changing skin tones/races and genders of characters. I honestly don't care what Disney does with their live actions, I will never watch one lol
So update, l asked like 11 girls and all of them said no.
Beginning to think it is not so much a girl/woman thing as it is a wealth thing. I never heard of people saying this stuff until gamer gate happened and that was in like 2014 I think, it was all women that come from backgrounds of wealth (well off parents) and going to expensive colleges. I grew up in lower-middle class. No one talked are thought like this.
