On the one hand, that's a gigantic pain in the butt... on the other hand, I get why they do it. It'd probably be more sane to have a check every 90 days rather than 30 though.

I have gone years without touching games on Steam. If they suddenly said I didn't own them anymore, I would be mad. A lot could happen in 30 days. People have jobs, family, kids, etc. it just seems selfish to me.

It's very selfish.

This part of the you will own nothing. So why buy games if that's the case

They want to push a society of renters. They say we will own nothing and be happy but they are banking on the kids growing up in a rental society. No one would be happy with that crap having grown up without it. I think this is why so many people that play games who are older are fed up with microtransactions and other BS in games and younger ones don't care. They grew up with it.

If rental services worked then Blockbuster would still exist.

Sick me didn't actually read the "license will be revoked" part.

But that said, has this actually been confirmed with an official Sony source? I would be inclined to think the "valid period" is more the grace period before it's required to check back online against the account, no?

Like, I literally have gone months without my PS5 being turned on. I can't imagine Sony revoking my digital ownership over that (especially since they were really pushing the non-disc version of the console to begin with).

Not sure. I just saw it being something people were discussing and getting mad about. Time will tell. I am sure with all the backlash, they will (or at least should) reverse this decision if it is legit.

They forget people are having fewer kids. The biggest market are 30 to 55 year olds and that age range has a high percentage of people that appose this stuff.
