Video Games Switch 2 Announced

At the moment. I think it's also 80 Euros, which is $137 AUD right now.

I think they just pick some industry standard prices and stick with them. A lot of new releases are also $120 AUD, and have been for about a year.
They all need to just go back down to $50 USD.

It's crazy. I got most of my consoles in the mid-late 00s at garage sales and their games from eBay. I'm talking PS1s, SNESs, N64s (plural, yes); now you see retro game stores selling copies of Mario Party for like $300.

Meanwhile you walk into any game shop in Japan and buy them for like $1-$20 depending on whether or not has a box, the condition, etc.

I have seen this. A lot of stuff is so much cheaper there. There is no incentive to rip people off.

Physical games will be $90. The $80 is for digital only. Also, the console being sold in Japan which is in Japanese only is going to be $333 vs the $449 price tag in the US.

Nintendo just got even more greedy. I am good on getting a Switch 2.

That's crazy right there.

I remember the SNES was $200.00 when it came out in the early 1990s. That was a lot of money then too. This isn't new for Nintendo.

I remember my pops paying $74.99 at Wal Mart for Final Fantasy II (which is actually IV). That was in i wanna say 92.

Paid damn near $80 for Earthbound and Final Fantasy III (VI). Like years apart though.

Nintendo has always been a bit greedy but I guess I didn't notice growing up cause I wasn't the one paying for the stuff lol

100% agree. Breath Of The Wild and Tears Of The Kingdom are both great games, but awful Zelda games, not to mention they’ve gotten stale just by staying the exact same. I’ve seen Mario, Donkey Kong, Kirby, and Metroid all improve and advance in quality during the Switch Era just by building on their own game mechanics, but Zelda has done nothing but deteriorate.

This is more so a jab at graphics not changing as a whole. Look at the new Mario Kart compared to the last one. It doesn't look much better. lol
