Relationship between ki and physical body

Does a correlation between ki and physical body exists or the physical body is only a "tank" for ki?
I believe that it would be better if the ki system was based also on "physiological" factors

I'm sure there's info about it, but I believe the implication is physical strength correlates to how well one can train and - I guess - be a "tank" for ki.
 
ki is a vital life force or energy that is intimately connected to the physical body so it does help with strengthing the physical body they are connected to each other you can't do one without the other . I mean goku wouldn't be able to spirt bomb without the ki .
