As an anime - it's great. As a sports anime - it's not the most realistic thing, and it's largely to do with the stakes, tension, and is in essence a battle shonen. But it's still absolutely one of the best animes currently out there and definitely worth watching.

As a fellow July man, do you ever feel we tend to get screwed over by these lists 99% of the time?

Couldn't wait until July, so I just finished reading about where I would assume the second part of this season is going to end. I almost cried manly tears. So there's a good chance I will once I see this animated. I have about 30 chapters or so until I get to the end of the manga.

For direct-to-video, it's not actually too bad. I also enjoyed the Timon and Pumba spin-off series as a kid.

What about Lion King 2?

They do a really good job with the musical numbers, and Will Smith was quite enjoyable as Genie. I rather enjoyed watching it but absolutely hated the Lion King remake. It probably doesn't help that it's one of my all time favourite movies.

Scooby Doo was great. I didn't actually hate Aladdin (I don't think I ever saw the animated before it though). 101 Dalmatians and Josie and the Pussycats are also pretty solid. This.
