I'm 31 and I've been playing guitar since I was 13. However, the last several years I'd kind of fallen out of love with it. It got to the point where I was only picking up a guitar once ever 4-8 months and maybe only for 20 minutes to an hour. When I was a teenager, I played 4-8 hours at least 4 days a week lol. So awhile back my older brother (Who also started playing guitar when I did) invited me to this tube amp group on Facebook (I've always played solid-state). It sort of reignited my interest a little bit over time. I bought a couple of new pedals I always wanted like the Boss OC-3 and DOD FX75 Flanger and then I bought a couple more lol (Boss Noise Suppressor and Looper), then my father in law gave me two pedals that he never used (He found that he prefers his amps natural tone), the EVH P90 Phaser and a Booster. On top of all of that, I already own a Crybaby wah, Boss DS-1, & Boss Metal Zone. So then I started playing a lot more. I made up my mind that I wanted to try a tube amp, so I asked the group what lower budget options I had and I just didn't care for what was suggested (Like Jet City amps). I don't want to feel like I'm playing through half-assed inferior equipment (It's a morale thing with musicians. You're not as inspired when you feel like you're being held back by inferior equipment). So I doubled my budget and got on Reverb to see if I could find a bargain on a Marshall... the king of tube amps. I found a 40W JMC 2000 DSL for $500 and pounced. My whole life, I've always seen Marshall as the ultimate amp and I've always been envious of every guitarist I've met that had one. The seller said I should get it by Thursday, if not Wednesday. I'm so excited to actually own a Marshall. This is a big deal to me and I'm so happy to have finally gotten back into one of my life's lost passions.
