This can be the case in the US, Canada, UK, and other developed nations where human rights have peaked and women, homosexuals, different races, religions, and so on can do as they please and live their lives how they want to live it without the danger of being outcasted from the general population, put in prison, or killed. Back in the day, this was not the case and very, very few places allowed women to have rights much less other races or religions outside of said regions' approval or allowed homosexual relationships. Now that people aren't persecuted for these things (at least in most areas), it seems like some of the most outrageous and close-minded thoughts/morals/ideas have spread like wildfire. Critical race theory is one example of this. Another is justifying pedophiles and calling it a "gender identity". Oh, and the growth of people generally pushing for socialism, marxism, and even communism.
I think this is all down to people not having to struggle. People in the US have it so good that we even have overweight and obese homeless people. Let that sink in for a minute. We have all come to rely on a system for work, money, food, shelter, etc. to the point where many adults don't know how to cook, clean, fix things (general labor) grow a garden, tend to plants, or worse... take care of animals/children. I think the boomer generation was the start of this. They had it easy and wanted it to be made even easier. Many still worked hard and learned skills but they had the option not to and many took up that option. Fast forward to "millennials" and "zoomers" and we see a lack of labor skills, a lack of basic understand/commonsense, a lack of education (where it matters), a lack of diversity in thought, a lack of responsibility... I can go on and on. While certainly, this is not the case for everyone, the loud ones seem to be at the frontlines of fighting for "change" and they are looking to destroy what was once good about America and general American culture.
It makes me think of what happened in Africa. How people kept donating clothes, food, etc. to the point where farmers and people on the market lost their livelihood and means to earn so they either moved away or lost everything of value to them. The tribes ended up relying on these care packages so much that anytime donations aren't given, a lot of people suffer and die. I get wanting to help people but giving people free stuff and keeping them reliant on a flawed system is not the way to do it. It helps short-term but hurts so much long-term that it ends up preventing a society from actually growing, expanding, investing, and progressing.
I think this is the case. We have no real threats, no real reasons to come together as a nation... So it is falling apart and people are more concerned with regressing back into tribes, separating everything, and fighting each other over the dumbest stuff than actually ensuring we don't leave this place worse off than when we came in.
Sorry about the rant, was just randomly thinking about this stuff.
