Hey everyone!

When you decide to revist Dragon ball, do you read it or watch it? I'm making a video about the differences between the anime and manga of Dragon Ball. I am only talking about Dragon Ball the anime and the first part of the manga. I'll probably do Z later.

Anyways, if you were recommending Dragon Ball to someone, then what would you suggest? Reading or watching?

I personally think it depends. The manga of Dragon Ball is faster and takes a lot less time to finish. But, the anime has a lot of added scenes that flush out the characters and plot. Sometimes it seems like the Manga is too fast and the anime corrects this. I say read the manga, although it is pretty close. If you have the time to watch the anime, then I'd say do that. For those who have read the manga and watched the anime what were some differences that stuck out to you?

Also, if anyone wants to discuss this topic in detail, I am totally down just let me know!

I used to reread it when I revisited the series, but now I rewatch it. I used to be somewhat of a Manga purist for Dragon Ball, but I’ve come to appreciate that the Anime fleshes out the series more, and I also like it animated more than just drawn too. The filler is also generally not extended to the point of stupidity like the One Piece Anime, so that’s something to admire as well.

I prefer the anime. I can't say I ever read the manga. I was never really into comics. I did intend on collecting the manga just because it is something of history for the series but I never got around to it.

Manga is worth a read through at least once, especially if you're a dub-only watcher.

But recommending the manga when the anime is readily available is never at the forefront of my mind unless someone explicitly mentions it. The only exceptions are when the anime isn't (DBS, new season of Spy x Family, not wanting to watch 1000 episodes of One Piece...)

Theres a lot of really bad moments in the anime (like Goku punching gohan)
Its also much slower (even at the start) Not available subbed in germany And also Mostly uglier (except the buu arc!)
So yeah Manga i watched howver some movies and gt thanks to them having better pacing than the anime!

In general old anime pacing drives me up a wall!
