So I came up with an idea for a game that we can all play with each other on the forum. Nothing is automated, it will just be me uploading JPEGs of the games as they go along. So I'll track collections as well (Yes each participating forum player will have a collection and there will be 3-7 card packs to buy with Zenies) I made a starting 10-card set for a DBZ Triple Triad game. Like so: (The other two are technique cards which I'll explain later) For those who haven't played FFVIII, Triple Triad uses a 3x3 board like this. It's very simple to play. -When you place a card, it attempts to "take over" the cards beside it. -Each card has a value for each of its sides in the top left corner. You could say this represents the strength of each side. -Two of the same number means a placed card fails to take over. So if you have a 2 and 2 side by side, it does not "take over". -A number lower than the number of a side it's attempting to take over fails as well. -A number higher than the side of a card beside it takes it over. I will track this by coloring the outside of the box a card it is in, the designated color for that player. -A card CAN take over multiple cards. So yes, if you place a card in the center, it could take over up to 4 cards. If you place a card in a corner, it could take up to two cards and so on. So how this will work on the forum? -Before anyone can play, they get a random 5-card pack. -I will do this simply by rolling virtual dice on RANDOM.ORG and using a rarity table I made The rarities are as so Farmer - Common Gohan - Common Yamcha - Common Tien - Common Krillin - Uncommon Goku - Uncommon Piccolo - Uncommon Kamehameha - Rare Special Beam Cannon - Rare Raditz - Super Rare So the first thing I'll do is roll a D20 for rarity. 1-3 = Rare card 4-8 = Uncommon card 9-20 = Common card For commons, I will roll a D4 for equal rarity (Each card takes 1 slot) For uncommons, I will roll a D9 for equal rarity (Each card takes 3 slots) For rares, I will roll a D9, with Kamehameha & SBS taking 4 slots each and Raditz taking only 1 slot. Opting in a game After a player has pulled their initial 5 cards, they can opt in a game that hasn't started. If we're in the middle of a game, they will need to wait to opt into the next one. So yes, that means this will be multi-player and ties are possible. The Zenies, more cards, and more packs -Opting in a game guarantees you a single card pull, even if you lose. -If you win, you get Zenies towards buying packs AND your single pull. -If your win is a solo-win, you get 20 Zenies -If your win is part of a tie, you get 10 Zenis So far, there is only one set [Enter Raditz] 3 card pack: 25 Zenies 5 card pack: 35 Zenies 7 card pack: 45 Zenies Players can trade Zenies (Through me, of course) and cards as they like... with one exception: No freebies. So how do the technique cards work? So far, there are just two technique cards, Kamehameha and Special Beam Cannon, and they both work the same way. You may only play them beside their respective characters. So play Special Beam Cannon beside a Piccolo card you have on the board (Includes any you've taken over) and the same for Kamehameha for Goku, Krillin, and Yamcha The side of Piccolo which you played Special Beam Cannon on is the number that is on all four side of Special Beam Cannon. So if you played it on a side of Piccolo that is a 3, Special Beam Cannon is a 3 on all sides, then attempts to take over any cards beside it. Technique cards CAN be taken over. So... who wants to open their pack and play?
