I had just read about this in the news the other day. It's particularly bad because bees are already not doing so hot thanks to hew-MANS.

We just had a bunch of bees get released like 2 years ago to bring the populations up. I will kill a hornet, wasp, etc. but I do my best not to hurt bees or get in a position where they'd sting me. I am hoping these hornets don't spread. We have had so many insects come here on boats it is insane. Then you have the nutjobs who buy exotics that aren't legal and release them into the wild. I think Florida has a few different reptile species that shouldn't even be there.

What's annoying are the people who kill bees when they colonize near them, there are services out there that will come and relocate them! It's a shame that people are ignorant about bees, they're not predatory unless you antagonize them. Wasps and hornets and so on, yeah, they're nasty critters, but bees will only attack if they're under threat.

Every spring they try to make nests by the side door and occasionally get in the house. I think the only thing that would be worse than a wasp is a spider with wings in my book.
I invest in these things when I start to notice wasps around. We've got bees the colonize near our flowering bushes and whatnot, but wasps...no thanks.

Going to get one soon. I hate them. They are so nasty and will actually attack you for just walking in their way.

I bet people do what I used to do and confuse bees with yellowjackets. Those f'n things will gun for you but bees seldom do, even if you swing at them.

Oh definitely, people see yellow and black and just go nuts. I get it, somewhat, if you don't know how to tell the difference they look pretty similar and both have stingers, but if you know what you're looking for you have no reason to panic around bees. They make the buzzy scary noise and can sting if you mess with them, but they're mostly docile and focused on their tasks. Wasps are pure evil, though. Don't like them, don't want to be near them!

I once saw a wasp fighting with a grasshopper. This was when I was younger, was on the table we had out on the deck. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I also have seen them go after bees too, several times. I may not like spiders but at least they have a purpose. What the hell do wasps do? Or hornets? They are on the same list as mosquitos and crap eating flies in my book. Useless annoyances.

Completely agreed, I don't know that they serve much of a purpose other than to annoy and destroy. Bees are vital, we need them and they serve a massive function for the world as a whole. Wasps and hornets, I've no idea what good they're for outside of being predators to other equally annoying insects.
