My opinion is that it's a bad shoot because he fired the warning shot at his feet/into the ground which instigated the physical contact. It's difficult to claim self defense when you're the one amping up the situation, but this will be for a grand jury to decide if there's enough evidence to take it to court for trial. A damn shame a man is dead over a custody argument.

I feel like both men were in the right in different regards. I wouldn't know how to rule this based on laws.
