Good news: I've finished scripting the stuff with Android 16 8, ready to proceed to Floor 5.

Bad news: I forgot that Floor 4.5 and Buyon are actually canon. So now I get to decide if I design those in or not.
Would it impact anything to include it?

Do It i loved the Buyon Fight! Also it would seem like a missed opportunity considering the fight has two hittable Targets Perfect for a puzzely RPG Boss!

Don't mind me. I just needed a sleep apparently.
Would it impact anything to include it?
Just my sanity and sensibilities.

It was mainly me whinging. From a design perspective 4.5 should be easy (mazes can be automatically generated in RPG Maker) and Buyon is just extra scripting. And I don't even need an overworld sprite; I could probably just rip the Advanced Adventure sprite and shove it there.
Also i general If You can decide between a white Fight and a Buyon Fight pick Buyon!
White would be happening either way. Narratively there's no way he isn't involved.

So Buyon is in great!
I MIGHT even be able to download the game and start playing it!
Any time you like. But this won't be released until the RR saga is finished.

For what it's worth though, if you finish up to where the current release stops, you should be able to resume that save when 0.3 is released.
But i suck at games so i might not be the right guy!
It's just a turn-based JRPG; if you suck, just grind. I also am not anywhere near done configuring the fights and enemies, so a lot of it comes down to just spamming the right attacks.

***but it will almost certainly look like the design from LOG2 but scaled back. But it won't be anywhere near as disappointingly small as Buu's Fury.

No problem. It's a bit complicated to explain through text. But basically you need to make sure they follow the layouts of the ones you've been seeing in this thread. You can either do it as a single sheet (with a $ in front of the filename like $Goku.png) or like the default sheets (the exact number of characters across the exact spacing). You need to make sure your grids are all equally the maximum height and width of your tallest and widest sprites.

Just flicking through that video, she seems to do a decent job explaining what you need to know in that regard. It's definitely easiest to do in GIMP; whatever you use needs to have a transparent background.

Still haven't made a lot of headway. Re-watching the show, I realise the footpaths are actually fairly wide, so I widened them and the road so it's a little less claustrophobic. Adding a fence also makes it somehow look a little more full, too.

Toying with the idea of making the road unpassable outside of pedestrian crossings. I looked into adding overpasses, but the script that handles it is very poorly documented. So that might be a future question.

OPINION TIME

I'm region-locking Goku's routes in West City to the footpaths. To overcome this I can either put in pedestrian crossings or overpasses.

If I use overpasses I can potentially write in cars as events. That's a little harder to do with the crossings.

But the crossings look nicer.

Oh yeah I'll definitely be programming pedestrian populations. I meant more how to handle traversing road crossings.

The roads are going to be a forbidden region either way. Just trying to figure out whether crossing it is better with an overpass or pedestrian crossing (there'll be several crossing points).
