I have a Viz subscription, so when I want to I generally pick something that sounds interesting. Didn't get into Yugi-Oh as a kid - to the point of just being the lonely kid at school who didn't have cards or want anything to do with it - but reading the manga I enjoy it (the anime is still trash though).Do you want to watch and read more?
Yeah I might try the first few chapters of the manga and see if it grabs me. The things I've seen don't really interest me.You should watch or read Naruto and Bleach. They're both rather long, but they're at least not extended to the point of stupidity like One Piece is, and they have a lot of similarities to Dragon Ball, especially Naruto.
In this case, he should have continued to act that way toward his father, but also should have told Hohenheim he forgave him.At least the Hohenheim/Ed dynamic is actually well-written, and there are a lot of good (and redeemable) reasons for it. It wasn't just him appearing like "lol I'm evil"
The walk to Arlong Park in general is not only the most epic moment in One Piece, but also one of the best scenes in animation history in the Anime. They even replicated it in the Fishman Island Arc.Having gotten 700 chapters through One Piece, I'll add Luffy to the mix. I think what really tipped it for me at first was this scene:

And then just the general not giving an F and just inciting the crap out of things without thinking through the consequences.
