I'm curious to know your favorites, if any of you have played them. I consider everything up to Budokai Tenkaichi 3 retro, by the way.

EDIT: You don't have to include a game as recent as Budokai Tenkaichi 3 just because I consider that game to be the most recent retro game.

Wow, I looked up that game on Google and it actually looks really good! I've heard good things about Revenge Of King Piccolo, have you played that?

I haven't, sadly, but I would strongly recommend Shinbutoden if you ever get the chance. For the era, it was fantastic!

If everything up to BT3 counts, then Budokai 3 is my favourite retro game but that's kind of a boring answer, kind of expected so I want to throw out another personal favourite, Super Dragon Ball Z.

Super Dragon Ball Z is a more traditional fighting game, with command inputs, quarter-circles and even more complicated directional inputs. It had a decent-size roster with some unique entries, like you can play as Chi-Chi for example. But what I loved about it was all the customization options, and like skill trees for leveling up characters. You could dead-ass give Mecha Frieza a rocket launcher, or give Future Trunks a lazer sword or a katana.

I have DBZ Shinbutoden on the Sega Saturn, it's underrated for a fighter, lots of fun!

Mate, you've may have picked the one DBZ fighting game I've never played. I looked it up and it does look fun, that Mr. Satan mode sounds hilarious.
