Dragon Ball Goku's Power Pole

I was thinking back to what happened to it and couldn't place it but then it hit me...

He used it to connect Korin's Tower and the Lookout. I thought that it was just randomly done away with. Such a small detail to forgot about.

Anyways, I enjoyed watching young Goku use that in his adventures and I was thinking, wouldn't it be something to bring it back as sort of a throwback to the OG series? I am not sure how or when they could write it in but since Goten is likely to stay a kid, it would be cool if in a future story, he is gifted it and uses it. Goten is more like Goku than Gohan was as well.

Just some random stuff crossing my mind.

I think it's fallen into the same endless void of forgotten ideas where Launch now resides. Remember in Super when Dende moved the Look-out but the pole clearly wasn't attached to the underside.

This is true, I forgot about that. I guess it is like the tails as well.

Exactly! Trunks and Goten never had tails because Toriyama stated by that time he had forgotten about them. It's never explained away any other way whatsoever. By the time Bulla is born I think they just rolled with it.

I think even if they did away with it throughout the story, they could have at least did some background for it. Like wished all future kids didn't have them or mentioned them being cut off by a special invention so they don't grow back.

I just assumed that it meant the human half of the DNA over-rid the tail property. That not all hybrid Saiyan Humans are the same. It also adds a bit more sense to it to think that instead of a tail, they were gifted with the natural ability to transform into SSJ. This ties into the "They were conceived while Goku & Vegeta were SSJ" theory.

There are a lot of ways to explain it away really, but it would have been nice for Toriyama to be the one to explain it.

It would be cool to see Goku in the 23rd and Saiyan Arcs with the Power Pole.

I always liked the power pole...however, the show has gone beyond actual martial arts and is more about power levels and ki blasts...so I doubt it would be of any use.

That is true. I forgot that the martial arts aspect has greatly been diminished which is unfortunate at times.

I know the kung fu hands reign supreme, it just isn't the same with everyone flying around and moving faster than the speed of light. lol

I think the scene where he puts it into korins + the fact that the tournaments dont allow weapons is the reason for its disaperence!

Yeah, that makes sense too. He eventually gave the Nimbus to Gohan as well since it was faster to just fly and eventually he learned teleportation.

i honestly think the best way to keep nimbus relevant is to give it space travel Abilitys!
