Dragon Ball Z Great Saiyaman Uniform

At the end of the Cell Saga, we see Gohan become emotionally charged and enraged when Cell effectively kills Android 16.
I think this moment really was the point for him where he went from a boy to a man in his mind and heart.

Now I don't know if there is anything to this but it would seem that the "Great Saiyaman" uniform appears to pull inspiration from Android 16.

- The bright green color over the black.
- The red cape from the RR stamped logo.
- The orange on the helmet matching the orange hair on 16.

What do you think?

It's entirely possible that's where the inspiration came from, certainly. He definitely had a lot of respect for 16, so it would make sense to honor him in some way, even if it's a goofy costume for a goofy gimmick that never should have existed.

The only thing that is the same about them is the hair color and being taller. The hairstyle, face, shape, attire, etc. are all different.

The colors are there but if we break down the entire outfit I think Bulma just cobbled together what she had lying around. The body suit, gloves, and boots are Saiyan design like what she keeps around for Vegeta. The gi top and belt appear to be inspired by what Satan wears. Maybe even the cape, but that could just be a coincidence. The helmet I have no in-universe explanation for, but I think it was Toriyama's nod to Kamen Rider.

If you ever saw the movie, "Waiting...", I wanted to put a screen shot of Luis Guzman's character banging his girlfriend in the bathroom stall and the bus boys busting in on them and taking a picture with a polaroid...as it develops, it's her completely disgusted, but he's smiling and giving a thumbs up. I couldn't find the screen shot and Amazon has screen shots blocked. You know what, I'll just take a photo. But my point is...yeah, I have no problem being him.
