Video Games Hackers & Permanent Bans

There seems to be an ever-growing issue with video game hackers ruining the experience of online gaming for everyone else. I have experienced my fair share of it on GTA V (PC) to know that most online games aren't even worth buying. I used to love CoD but if I were to buy that on PC, I would have to constantly get put up against people who can't lose because of hacks. These people really do ruin gaming for a lot of other people out there. Modding, hacking, or cheating in a single-player game is fine. Doing this in a friends-only lobby where it doesn't affect your overall score or whatever, sure no harm done... But if you are doing this crap in public lobbies, you are just a complete asshole. I don't care if you are 14 or 44, you are an asshole.



Muta shares his thoughts on permanent bans and I have to agree with him. I think if you get busted hacking or cheating in an online lobby of any game, you are banned from that game permanently. You are not only ruining the experience for other players who bought the game but you are discouraging others from buying said game because they have to deal with people like you. The worst of this bunch are the ones who claim to be good while using hacks or the ones who defend their actions by saying other players need to be better.

What are your thoughts on the subject of permanent bans?

It depends to me. If it minor things like money and such then like 30 would be fine, but something like aimbot and such then yeah Permanent

Maybe the context of the type of game would need to factor in. Like in GTA V, some cheats don't directly impact someone else's play whereas in a game like CoD, any cheat does.

Right that is what I meant. Like RDO has a lot of hackers hacking in all kinds of bs and those people need to be permantly ban, but the ones that hack to get money/gold then 30 days would be fine. That is what I was trying to say if it doesn't ruin everyone's experience then meh, but if ruins the game for everyone then yeah ban them

That is a fair call. I have actually played with a few guys on GTA V that used hacks on a regular basis but the one dude was nice enough to help me complete a few things hack free.

I'm all for perma bans if someone is desperate enough to cheat in an online game. I'm a gamer, have been my whole life, even before it was 'cool,' and I have to say, I've never been so worried about how I performed in a game that I needed to cheat to level the playing field against another opponent. If you're that invested into a game that you've gotta' cheat just to keep up appearances, let it go...

Definitely permanent ban. No reason to cheat and ruins the experience for everyone.
