Television How I Met Your Mother (Spin-off)

I enjoyed How I Met Your Mother. I only watched it after it was over. I tend to do this with a lot of shows. It was a decent show and had some really funny moments. Apparently, they are bringing it back but this time it will be "How I met Your Father". Hillary Duff will be playing the lead for this and it will follow the same concept but from a woman's perspective. Not the same story or the same characters and she will be telling her son the story.

I am not sure how this will do. I feel like this is happening only for two reasons... One is because they want a female lead and a female perspective on this kind of storytelling. And two, because Hollywood and writers for shows are just plum out of ideas. This could end up being a decent show so I won't knock it but I am sick of seeing the same thing over and over again. Anyone else?

Well, considering the general consensus on How I Met Your Mother's series finale is that it's one of the worst series finale in all of television history, if not the worst, I wouldn't be surprised if the motivation to do this was just to get it right this time. Though I do suspect it's happening simply because of Hollywood laziness. I feel like HIMYM covered everything you could do with this premise, so HIMYF feels immediately pointless but I don't know, maybe it'll be good.

I'll probably give it watch, if only for curiosity sake. HIMYM was one of my favourite sitcoms after all (particularly seasons 1-3, my feelings on the rest of it are mixed).
