How Important Is Fanservice To You?

I used not to care at all about fanservice, but I've grown to appreciate it more here and there.

I think fanservice to the extent of One Piece, Bleach, or My Hero Academia is nice to see. Seven Deadly Sins and especially Fairy Tail have too much fanservice, however.

What are your thoughts on fanservice?

I think it's really down to how it's implemented. Some is good, some is bad. It all really depends.

I feel like sometimes it is necessary to cover ground and stay relevant. Most of the time though fan service elements, movies, or general programming is not executed well and usually gets negative feedback. I really don't have an opinion on it one way or the other. If I am invested enough in an anime, I will watch whatever they dish out.

Sometimes it's used to satisfy the audience like a wink and a nod. In other instances it can be used to add comedic effect to an otherwise tense or serious situation. Whether it's bathroom humor, tasteful nudity, or slap stick, if it fits then it's always a positive narrative tool in my opinion.

I mean its honestly getting in the way i really dont need a boner while watching something its not that i can both do IT and watch a show so im somewhat baffeled by some fanservice decisions!

Than again ranma was like the 2nd or 3rd anime i watched and its full of that so maybe its just me!
Yeah you may wonder why not Db i think that was because of the whole Db/Z thing but maybe it was second im not sure!

I'm totally ok with some comedic or plot relevant fanservice. However, constant and unrealistic fanservice is annoying. I particularly hate when anime makes girls just be there for fanservice or when they becomes sexy and takes off most of their clothing when powering up.

Yeah, I don't really like that either. I still want character development for these girls and have them be an important part of the story.

In terms of sexual fanservice, I'd rather it not be involved much at all. Every now and then is fine, but if your show's selling point is that it has lots of fanservice, I'm just not going to watch it. In terms of non-sexual fanservice, stuff like bringing back a character for an episode for no other reason than people liked that character, or stuff like Super Smash Bros., I kinda live for that stuff. That can get annoying too if you don't balance it well, but generally I want more stuff like that, and less of just boobs for boobs sake.
