I wouldn't drop it for good, the ongoing Wano arc is one of the best arcs in the series, and is easily better than every other Post-Timeskip arc. Fishman Island, Punk Hazard, Dressrosa, & Whole Cake Island all had stuff in them that I loved, but I don't really like them as a whole, but Wano's been amazing. I did like Zou & the Reverie/Levely arcs too, but those are different types of arc.
I'd say wait for Wano to finish then binge read all of that. The idea of waiting for the whole series to finish is good too but I'd be worry about spoilers, so I'd suggest maybe reading the final arc week to week (I'm certain they'll announce when that's started). I prefer binge reading but being able to experience the end of One Piece as it happens with the community is going to be a special experience.
That's certainly a possibility, but how long will that take? LOL. I personally don't want it to exceed 120 Volumes.
About five years according to Oda, probably four years at this point. If Oda's right, and my math's right, I think it'd stop right before volume 120. Though I have doubts that Oda's estimation is actually right (though it's clearly nearing the end), and just as much doubts in my math ability.
Yeah i think one piece is pisodic right? also how long is that damn grand line (i only read like the first few volumes until the Cactus island with the graves!
One Piece gets progressively more serialized the further along it gets. It still maintains they clearly definable arcs structure with the different islands, but the arcs are very much tightly connected. For example, the Wano arc is the culmination of storylines that started all the way back in late 2012.
