WE NEED TO STOCK UP ON MILLIONS OF ROLLS OF TOILET PAPER!!!!
But in all seriousness, we all need to have stock ready. Even though this virus isn't as bad as the media is claiming, it has closed a lot of businesses and a lot of people are out of work.
The best way to be prepared for something like this is to have at least 3 months worth of savings that will cover bills, food, and supplies. Most people live paycheck to paycheck which is bad. Also having a pantry with food that lasts a long time like rice, beans, canned items, and dried soups. Learning how to pickle fresh foods is a good idea. Many of these things last 2 to 4 years. Water is a big one. If the water supply ever stopped for some reason or became contaminated, having water stocked up is a good idea. There are cheap 1$ gallons out there. Just buying a few a week will add up. If you keep them in a cool, dry place they will last a few years. Some overlooked things people tend not to think about are vitamins, hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol, matches, batteries, first aid kits, and so on.
I think having a three month supply at all times is ideal. While I was not prepared, I still always overbuy stuff like cat food, cat litter, and pantry items like pasta and sauce so I can go without buying food for awhile if I had to. With how easily people panic in these situations, they end up becoming more scary than the virus itself. It isn't a bad idea to have a gun on hand if it is legal to own one where you live.
So I think we all learned a lesson... The only people that were probably prepared for this were those nuts waiting on the zombie apocalypse. lol
Do you plan on doing anything to be better prepared in the future?
