This wasn't the case just 10 years ago. Social media pretty much took off around 2009/2010 and a bunch of people started spending hours a day online talking with other people who would normally just use texting to communicate. That and the gaming industry pushing things like Discord made it easier for people to talk online and meet new people. </p><p></p><p>It is easier for people to just talk about everything in one place and lazy internet goers love the ease of being able to do that on one platform. Social media is pretty much a forum without a niche so the focus falls flat on the user. It makes them the important factor and people these days eat that up.</p></blockquote><p></p>
