Phoenix Police were called to 35th avenue and Baseline Rd in Phoenix, AZ to reports of an injured individual; however, when they arrived on scene they discovered an infant not breathing. The infant was declared deceased at the scene. Sadly, it appears as though the baby was a newborn and likely an unwanted pregnancy.
While investigations are ongoing, I have to say that I hope they catch the mother and father involved in this and charge them both, I find it disgraceful that anyone could abandon a helpless child to it's certain death. I'm sure there are circumstances they felt were overwhelming, there are options outside of abandonment that could have spared that child, like adoption. It's not ok, under any circumstances, to leave a child alone to die.
