Yet another horror movie I never heard of. I guess this is the season for hearing about them. lol
So the movie It Follows is essentially about an STD demon. I kid you not. It is legit a demon that goes after people for having one night stands. The concept sounds hilarious but given the context, the creators seemed to have done a decent job with the story. If you haven't seen it and are interested in watching it, ignore everything after this point because I am going to spoil stuff.
I didn't actually watch the movie. I saw it referenced in another video and a video titled "It Follows (2014) KILL COUNT" popped up in my recommended list by Dead Meat. Since I had no plans to watch it, I popped it on because I was curious to see how this movie panned out.
The bit about Santa being on the roof cracked me up. And that I misspelled Santa and noticed it is Satan out of order, things cannot be unseen. lol
So yeah, this is an interesting concept. There is not much in terms of death but the chase is the highlight of the movie.
Because the demon can't be killed, there is a constant catch 21. You have to sleep with someone to make them the target and hope they sleep with someone else, and that someone else sleeps with someone else, and so on. Once the top target gets killed, then it goes back down the list. In my mind, the easiest way to get rid of it is to let the first person who "contracted it" die and not spread it anymore.
It almost makes fun of the horror movie genre as well because they have always primarily involved teenagers having sex and making stupid decisions.
