Fullmetal Alchemist! because both anime adaptations have some big problems!

Fullmetal alchemist 2003s problems:
A much diffrent and darker tone
Some bad filler Episodes
Whotf thought How about we introduce a gag char in a super disturbing episode
The Grimdark anime original Ending which needs a movie to be completed

Fullmetal alchemist Brotherhoods problem:
Cutting the train, coal town chapters
Dumming down every other Chapter that was adapted by 2003
moving thew exposiotion into a bad spot
ADDING AN USELESS FILLER EP AS THE FIRST EP and a recap
Adding humor in unfitting moments

Both animes problems:
Bassically just removing Fmas weird Abstract Aesthethic!

The only reason FmaBh is so loved is because the manga is amazing!

Outside of Shone action series, I'd highly recommend 20th Century Boys/21st Century Boys (21st Century Boys being the conclusion of 20th Century Boys). It's my favourite manga that's never been adapted into an anime, by one of my favourite mangaka Naoki Urasawa (of Monster fame, which is better than 20th Century Boys but it has an anime so shut up). It's been about a decade since I've read it, but it's still one of my favourites.

I guess the best way to explain the series is, have you ever play heroes & villains with your friends. Every come up with storylines about thwarting world domination attempts? Well, Kenji and his friends did when they were kids, and now a regular boring convenience store worker adult Kenji finds himself perhaps tasked with just that. As after the suicide of one of his childhood friends, he discovers a mysterious cult lead by someone known only as "Friend" and it seems that the Cult might have origins dating back to his childhood.

20th Century Boys is massive mystery thriller spanning decades long, with plenty of great inter-connected narrative twists and turns and plotlines. Despite being mostly grounded in realism, it has some of the most insane hype payoffs when they get there. I do think the series is at it's strongest in the first two-thirds of the series (or the first half counting 21st Century Boys), and kinda goes downhill at the end, but I do think the whole thing is worth reading, the last chapter is fantastic and the series as a whole has the best mystery I've ever seen.

Also, music's a big part of the series identity, so much so that Naoki Urasawa even wrote & performed a song for it. That's right, this is a manga with an actual OST for it.

Record of Ragnarok. Tournament between Gods and Human. Similar with Tenkaichi Budokai in Dragon Ball.
Kingdom. Story during 6 kingdoms era in China.
Hajime no Ippo for sport manga.

I hear Record of Ragnarock the manga is one of the most awesome, hype series out there. I heard the anime adaption was terrible. I'm pretty sure I heard for one fight, instead of animating it, they just showed coloured manga panels in a slideshow.

Yeah it's an amazing manga. There's no main characters. Once the first fight is over, either Human or God dies then we continue to the next fight with completely new fighters. Each fighters have their own backstory. It looks like almost anyone can be the main character. There's also a twist when you reach the sixth match. So it's not straight Humans vs Gods from fight 1 to fight 13. So that makes the story more interesting imo.

Sakamoto Days. It's a fun and relatively new Shonen Jump title about Japan's greatest assassin who falls in love, gets married, gets fat, and opens up a grocery store.
