Yeah, this is not getting good ratings. I expect this score to drop even more as more people see it.
Everyone seems to have the same big issue with the movie and that is how Mulan was written. They took everything people loved about her and removed it. Instead of working her butt off to prove herself, she just has magic and was born good enough. What kind of message is that meant to give off to kids?
"Well Susan, you weren't born with superpowers so I guess you can't be as good as men!"
"No, hard work won't make any bit of difference honey. Just marry an MLB player when you're 22 and call it a day."
Yeah, I am stretching it a bit far but you get my point. She worked her butt off and achieved something. It was inspiring. This Mulan is like the Paris Hilton equivalent, being born rich and not having to try hard to do anything. Just make a small decision and it is all on easy street. Hell, she has to fake being weaker at a certain point in the movie. wtf...
I loved the cartoon version of the movie and just like all these other remakes, I refuse to watch them.
