Multi-Form - Sentience and Existentiality

So this has always bothered me...

So we all know about the Multi-Form technique, and that all of the clones seem cable of operating independently. Piccolo and Tien constantly fight with themselves, and Piccolo even converses with his clone. And when taken enough damage the clones eventually "die" and form back into one being.

Since they operate independently, surely they have some sort of existential crisis, right? Like, no one wants to die (not even Krillin and Yamcha). Surely at some point a Multi Form clone being created for the sole purpose of training must want to nope out of there and live his own life.

Are you familiar with Rick and Morty? It seems the idea behind this is similar to Mr. Meeseeks. Like the clone forms are created with a purpose and once the purpose is fulfilled, they just "vanish" in a sense. I could be wrong but this is kind of what I figured it to be like.

Vaguely (I haven't watched an episode in several years), but I get what you're saying. But from an ethical sense, aren't the Z-Fighters just increasing the kill count by bringing clones into existence to die? Surely at a certain stage Tien has a higher kill-count than Frieza.

I never thought of it like that. I mean if the clones are dying and the energy just gets put back into Piccolo or Tien, then I think it would cancel out. They are essentially souless energy forms of themselves.

The again... Now I have to wonder if they feel double the pain when they were fighting themselves lol

Well their power is diminished for each copy they make, and it does look like each copy does feel pain when hit, so if they're not feeling double the pain, they've created beings capable of thoughts, with their own hopes and dreams, that just get brutally assaulted constantly.

You know who doesn't have the liberty of overthinking this? Every multiform being that has needlessly died over the course of the series! The Dragon never brings them back!

Someone needs to do a death counter of all the times Piccolo and Tien essentially killed themselves.

in Tiens case hes splitting Himself so all clones are Tien!

One thing that always bothered me are the Fusions! all fusions are diffrent people than their Parts! so 1. the fusions only get to ölife really short
or 2. Permafusion which whenver is brought up anywhere creeps me out!
because of that all fusion i plan on making only cfuse the body NOT the mind!

I agree with you. I think the afterimage technique is a lot more useful as well, and a good alternative to the multi form technique.
