Dragon Ball Super NEW MOVIE. New Trunks. IMO

I am excited about this movie. I don't know what to expect aside from Trunks and Goten being much older. I have my opinion about what I already don't like about what I have seen so far based on the trailer and poster promo. I'm sure everyone notices already Trunks and Goten's fingers slightly off, when performing the fusion dance. Ugh. Honestly, why must my feelings feel played like this? I really hope Gotenks is a part of this movie. Kind of curious to see how similar Gogeta and Gotenks would look IF the fusion is even in this movie. Now another "ugh" point that I wanted to make was the fact Trunks now has BLUE HAIR!!!!! I really do not like it.. I'm so used to this-->. NotTHIS---<.

I know it may not sound like a big deal. BUT I like my Purple hair Trunks.. Akira Toriyama has always had inconsistencies when comes to the animation style, and color and openly admitted that. As an artist, this drives my OCD with color up the wall.

Honestly, I'm siked. I wish there were more fights with the characters we normally don't see as much fight more. Gohan definitely needs a new hairstyle and a change in clothes. Lately, his style is very confusing, and it really doesn't show too much age progression. I can't wait to see Pan in action. I am curious to see what Vegeta and Bulma's daughter looked like. In GT Bulla was a lot older than Pan, 5 years I believe but in super both Bulla and Pan were babies, and they made Pan older than Bulla.

OH THE INCONSISTENENCY , HOW I HATE IT.


Now I'm curious to see Krillin's daughter Maron. What did Toriyama do with her glow up?

Trunks' hair in Super bothered me a lot too, to the point that I did research into it. I find the saga of Trunks' hair interesting so I'll share what I remember.

It all started with that blue-haired bitch Bulma. In the first chapter, and only the first chapter of Dragon Ball, Toriyama gave Bulma blue hair, and subsequently in every chapter after that, gave her purple hair. When Toei adapted Dragon Ball, despite having several chapters available all with purple hair Bulma, decided to go with one appearance blue hair for whatever reason. Toriyama kept his colour palettes consistent throughout his manga, meaning Trunks had purple hair after his mother. Rather than match Trunks' hair to his mother like intended, Toei just kept the purple. To be honest, Bulma looks better in blue and Trunks looks better in purple so I don't mind.

Once Super entered the picture, probably in an attempt to compromise, Toriyama colours both Bulma and Kid Trunks with blue hair. Toei, in an attempt to not compromise, ignores this and change Kid Trunks back to purple hair. Yet, when it came time to provide character designs for the Goku Black arc, Toriyama did what he's been doing since Dragon Ball Super launched and drew Trunks with blue hair to match his anime mommy. Except this time, Toei didn't change it back, because they hate us specifically I guess.

As for the movie, I'm looking forward to Gohan and Piccolo getting time to shine and for Goku not to be the hero for a change.

I think the hair has to do with him being in a different timeline though. Future Trunks was the same timeline, just in the "future" whereas the Trunks in Super was in a different realm/timeline. Maybe they just wanted to differentiate the two with a different hair color so you can know. Or they just did it to dumb it down for kids to be able to understand. lol

I don't have an issue with her hair being "blue" but I think it should be more aqua/teal.

I think there needs to be a movie for Future Gohan somehow. I know this is almost impossible for Toei Animation to come up with but it would be cool to see.
