The One Piece remake isn’t out yet, but if you were to invest your time in either, which would you choose?

It depends what the pacing is, what the production is like, and what they're doing with it.

Live action is surprisingly good (even if I didn't really go beyond the first few episodes). I will probably dock the remake some points if they use a completely different score; I need Overtaken to play to tell me when Luffy is about to take names and kick asses (and then give those names to other asses he kicks).

They will most likely cut the score, which is too bad because that’s most likely the greatest aspect of the Toei Anime.
