YouTube Prank videos need to stop...

Seriously. Make these stop. Especially ones that involve children. It is disturbing how parents use their kids to make millions on YouTube.

Didn't watch the video as yet, but you would have thought they would have gotten the message when that woman shot and killed her husband for a "prank" because he believed he could stop a bullet with an incredibly thick book. Spoiler: he was wrong. She's now in jail for his murder, but hey, views, right?

Edit -- better correct myself, apparently she only served 180 days in jail and got 10 years of probation...doesn't change the fact she killed her husband for views.

I didn't hear about this one. I didn't even know this was a huge genre on YouTube until watching this video. They are just awful. They either are so fake it is pathetic or they are legit hurting other people physically or emotionally. How is this entertaining?

I don't see the entertainment in them, personally. I suppose we have Johnny Knoxville and Jackass to thank for this, as it's only gotten bigger and more elaborate since they started being idiots for money. People saw that, started copying, and the trend has just continued onward...

Most definitely. Social media has been a culprit in this, as well, with people having a platform that can expose their idiocy to millions of others. So...thanks, social media Jackasses.

For every creative individual are hundreds of jackasses willing to do anything for money and many more lining up hoping to do the same. I never understood wanting to be famous. I can understand wanting to be wealthy, but not famous. You have to be really desperate for attention or nuts to want that. Most famous people end up regretting it because you get to a point where you can't go anywhere without being recognized and harassed by fans.

Completely agreed, I'll take their money, but I'd hate being well known. You lose your privacy completely, and do anything wrong and you're universally hated...stupid lifestyle.
