I read all of Demon Slayer since it became the biggest success story in Japan of like, all-time. In like 2020, it was the highest selling manga of the year, beating out the second best selling manga (Kingdom) by over 70 *million* copies, and of course Infinity Train becoming the highest grossing anime & Japanese film of all-time. I had to find out what all the hype was about, things aren't popular for no reason after all, and it was okay. Not bad, not great, okay. I do love how compassionate Tanjiro is as a MC though, really liked how empathetic the series was. I get the anime might be better because they have Ufotable animating it and they produce some of the highest quality animation, but I found Zenitsu so obnoxious in the manga that I didn't bother dealing with him having a voice lol. I don't need to hear that whine. I will say, Demon Slayer does have a few unique things about it, mostly in terms of how they structure their battles, but all that comes from stuff they haven't animated yet and I could be vague about it but I'll think I'll just stop there. I will say though on the other end of the spectrum, the series really did remind me of FMA. The same overarching thread between the siblings is the same but worse in Demon Slayer, Nezuko is just an Alphonse Elric without the personality. Also, I like MHA more than Attack on Titan (I am still behind though tbf).
