The New York Yankees are going to the World Series for the first time since 2009.

And that’s a long time for the Yankees. I’m so happy as I am a big Yankee fan and it’s time to party like it’s 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2009!!!

Go Yankees!!!

I’m about to be sad as fuck when it’s the Yankees and Mets playing, because I hate both of them. Hell, I hate the Dodgers also lol, so either way I’m gonna hate this World Series

Didn't they historically go the most though? I don't watch baseball but my family does and they always complained about the Yankees lol

I’m a Braves fan, born and raised in Georgia!
Hey I like the Atlanta Braves as well!!! They are actually my second favorite MLB team and favorite National League team and were my first favorite baseball team as a little kid, but I became a Yankees fan in 2003 because my dad has always been a big Yankees fan (while my Mom is a Braves fan) and back in 2003 everyone was either on the Yanks side of things or the Red Sox side things and me and my mother always saw the Yankees as the lesser of two evils and plus I admired Derek Jeter growing up.

Anyways, my main connection to the Atlanta Braves is I too have been born and raised in the South (I live in Tallahassee and use to live in Macon, Georgia in my early childhood and I was born in Alabama) and I grew up watching regular season Braves games on TBS back in the 1990’s and 2000’s and I loved Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones, Greg Maddux, John Smoltz, etc… growing up before becoming a Yanks fan in 03.

But, what made me want to become a Yankee fan first and foremost??? I don’t know…I guess it’s my loyalty to my Dad’s teams (as he and I are Auburn Tigers fans while my Mom is an Alabama fan). We have a weird family, I know LOL. That and I just love the team’s history.

Every MLB team that’s not the Yankees has fans that hates Yankees. That is just natural human nature of baseball fans LOL.

I’m use to it.

Holy fuck lol I use to live in Macon also, I’m just outside of it now lol. Legit the city line is like 2 miles from me. I even went to a few Macon Braves games as a kid back in the day. 😂 that’s crazy.

If I had to pick a second team, I’d probably say Red Sox, since that’s my girls team, and we are pretty supportive of each others teams.

Wow, that’s so cool! I too went to some Macon Braves games as a kid. But it was such a long time ago that I lived in Macon (I‘ve lived in Tallahassee for most of my life and can even remember when the hockey team, the Tiger Sharks played here).

But yeah, I have a lot of good memories of living in Macon, Georgia. As a kid, I use to love visiting the Georgia Sports Hall Of Fame and the Georgia Music Hall Of Fame and stuff like that. It’s where I saw Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace like six or seven times in theaters as a kid at that Regal Cinemas that no longer exists and where I first saw the original Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movie in theaters too (the first time at AmStar Cinemas and the second time at Regal Cinemas).

As rooting for the Red Sox, that’s cool that you want to support your girlfriend’s team, but I could never root for the Red Sox as I’ve hated them all my life. The only Boston and New England team I like and can stand is the Celtics.

But hey, the Sox have had a lot of success in the 2000’s and 2010’s and won 4 World Series championships in that timeframe, so I’m sure you can’t complain.

If I had to pick my favorite Yankees team that didn’t win the World Series, let alone make the World Series, it’d be the 2005 team.

Seriously a offensive lineup of Jeter, A-Rod, Sheffield, Posada, Matsui, Giambi and Cano and a pitching rotation of Chein-Ming-Wang, Mike Mussina, Randy Johnson and Mariano Rivera and the Yanks couldn’t even get past the Angels in the first round of the playoffs for the second time that decade. Unbelievable. Baseball is HARD.

Well what a game last night was with Game 1 of the World Series between the Yankees and the Dodgers even though my Yankees lost.

Seriously, Freddie Freeman doing what everyone dreams about doing as a kid and hitting a wal-off grand slam home run after the season he has had. I am so happy for him as someone who roots for the Braves also.
