The Office Australia review – an edgeless reboot doomed for the shredder
The key challenge for the Australian version of this much-loved sitcom was to bring something new to the table. Amazingly, no one seems to have tried
Thrice. It started with Office UK (which I didn't get overly into, but did crack the smile barrier very easily).
Oh I know but i meant in general. They do this with movies and TV shows. Reboots, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, etc. They cleary have no good ideas anymore lol
I bet that one is actually remotely funny.Don't feel like you are alone. Apparently they are doing a Mexican version too.
Admittedly, I did actually laugh out loud at a clip that, for the most part, wasn't funny. There was a scene where she had two randoms come in to speak at the funeral of a dead employee (again, mostly not funny). Then she held up a sign that said "welcome to country" and they were just like "welcome to Australia". It was entirely dumb, but easily the funniest (and only) joke.
("Welcome to Country", is the thing progressives like to do at the start of every event where they acknowledge the land was owned by [Aboriginal tribe], and a lot of fluff around that. Pretty certain government organisations and schools are obligated to do that.)
