I started playing more FighterZ and even dabbled in online play now, so I've been enjoying the game a lot more, at least when I'm not getting absolutely slaughtered (which is more common than I'd like). This sales talk got me thinking so I did some research and found out that it's pretty hard to find accurate sales information. But from what I can tell, the Xenoverse franchise is the best selling franchise, with both selling over 10 million units, I know 6 million of those come from Xenoverse 2, which makes it the best selling Dragon Ball game. I also know FighterZ sold over 5 million units, which likely makes it the second best selling in the series. I can't actually find an accurate number for the first game, last report I could find was it selling over 3 million units but that was back in 2016, I do kind of find it hard to believe it would top 5 million since then especially with Xenoverse 2 but I still think that places it in third place. I did beat the first game and played a bit of Xenoverse 2 but I never personally cared for the game. Still, it is pretty odd that it wasn't included on the list thinking about it now, it does scratch a different itch than the other games in the franchise. And in FighterZ's defense, it's easily one of the most accessible fighting games out there, with only quarter circle directional inputs, auto-combos, and everyone sharing the same special prompts. But even though I like fighting games a good deal, I definitely prefer platformer fighters like Smash. Ultimate is probably my favourite game of all-time, and though I think it should stay video game characters only, Goku getting in would be hype AF and I'll be maining him regardless of how good he is. I sunk hours into this game and I'm pretty sure I hated it.
