NEW YORK — The New York City Police Department asked for the public's help in apprehending the unidentified gunman who allegedly shot and killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson outside the Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan early Wednesday morning, decrying what investigators deemed a "premeditated, pre-planned attack."

The Hilton Hotel was hosting the UnitedHealthcare annual investors meeting, and police said Thompson had been in town from Minnesota since Monday and was staying across the street.

"It appears the suspect was lying in wait for several minutes, and as the victim was walking to the conference hotel, the suspect approached from behind and fired several rounds, striking the victim at least once in the back and at least once in the right calf," NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said at a press conference. "Many people passed the suspect, but he appeared to wait for his intended target. The suspect fled first on foot, then on an e-bike, and was last seen in Central Park on Center Drive."

The shooting came as tourists flock to the annual Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting, which will take place just blocks away from the scene later Wednesday night.

A manhunt is underway as the suspect remains at-large.

No one knows what lead to this but a bunch of sick people are celebrating it... :glare:

They found the shooter in PA and he is in custody. He is a data engineer named Luigi Mangione. Still had the gun and fake IDs on him. Dude is cooked.

I won’t ever celebrate anyone’s death, but this isn’t one I’m gonna be to upset over if I’m being honest. As someone who has health issues and has a hard time being able to find affordable healthcare, it’s not like the guy who was killed would care if I died.

I get that the celebrating part is bad and just encouraging more of it. And I feel for his kids. Regardless of what he was at work, he could have very well been a loving father those kids will mourn for life now and that is so sad.

“To the Feds, I'll keep this short, because I do respect what you do for our country. To save you a lengthy investigation, I state plainly that I wasn't working with anyone. This was fairly trivial: some elementary social engineering, basic CAD, a lot of patience. The spiral notebook, if present, has some straggling notes and To Do lists that illuminate the gist of it. My tech is pretty locked down because I work in engineering so probably not much info there. I do apologize for any strife of traumas but it had to be done. Frankly, these parasites simply had it coming. A reminder: the US has the #1 most expensive healthcare system in the world, yet we rank roughly #42 in life expectancy. United is the [indecipherable] largest company in the US by market cap, behind only Apple, Google, Walmart. It has grown and grown, but as our life expectancy? No the reality is, these [indecipherable] have simply gotten too powerful, and they continue to abuse our country for immense profit because the American public has allowed them to get away with it. Obviously the problem is more complex, but I do not have space, and frankly I do not pretend to be the most qualified person to lay out the full argument. But many have illuminated the corruption and greed (e.g.: Rosenthal, Moore), decades ago and the problems simply remain. It is not an issue of awareness at this point, but clearly power games at play. Evidently I am the first to face it with such brutal honesty.”
If he wrote this, this guy is retarded

The reason people in America are sick is not from a lack of insurance. It is from all the crap the GOVERNMENT allows to be put into food and be considered "food". Couple that with the OVERUSE of drugs and medical treatments (not the lack there of) and people generally just being lazy, what do you think will happen? I won't even include all the toxins in the water, air, and non-food products cause there is just too much to name.

The insurance and medical industries make so much because people are getting sick and the medical industry doesn't treat problems, they treat symptoms. This creates forever patients who are given drugs to "fix" a symptom which causes more issues and leads to more drugs. The more overweight you are, you health issues tend to increase and the costs go up. We also have a doctor and nursing shortage which results in needing to pay them more just to keep them around because doctors and nurses are often overworked to the point of wanting to quit - especially true since Covid. Just in my area alone, 3 hospitals closed since 2020. They couldn't keep them staffed.

Insurance companies are able to bankrupt people because the government allows for it as well. The system was made 100x worse from Obama when he forced through ObamaCare. But let's just ignore that.

If he was capable of critical thinking, he would be able to see that. He also can't even articulate why he killed the man which makes this even more stupid.

Also he praised the feds so he automatically gets an r-tard VIP card for that.

Pretty much. This is where we see change. A lot of people are either unbothered or uneducated on what they put in the food and the risks. There shouldn't be ANYTHING in food that can cause illness without a clear label. Just like they do with cigarettes. I think that will be the next step since it was already passed in 2021 that the use of bioengineered food ingredients needs to be clearly labeled on food packaging.

There really shouldn't be anything in our food like this but I know you need to walk people into this sort of truth to get them to understand. You can't just push them over the cliff.

I've got no problem with the memes, but good gosh, the number of people who:
- think this is justified
- are maligning the McDonalds worker for - you know - reporting a crime
- somehow manage to compare this to Rittenhouse (???)

It's just terrifying.

For the sake of argument, let's say it is justified, and he was a hero, and the McDonalds employee is some sort of villain. That's the bar? What happens for the next CEO or high-ranking employee of a business that is unethical?

The below is a hypothetical comparison, not an endorsement, do not do this:
I guarantee, if Alexis McGill Johnson* was executed by a vigilante (please, nobody do this), by her views and actions you could justify it within the same scope as Brian Thompson (again, no one do this, this is not an endorsement), but the Left would almost certainly be breaking down every door in the city and holding candlelight vigils.

*For what it's worth, some estimates put her salary and compensation close to $1M so... eat the rich unless they're slaughtering babies, right?

Again, my post is saying the Brian Thompson murder was unjustified and bad, and not encouraging anything

Just understand piece of shit is NOT a hero. As much as I don't like the healthcare industry, its still not an excuse to kill a C.E.O. This solved nothing, they'll replace HIM with a different C.E.O.

If anything, I'd use this "energy" for BlackRock/SweetBaby/Vanguard/Whatever. Anything with Soro's hand on it.

Why the Hell did people start comparing Luigi Mangione to Kyle Rittenhouse last month? They're two completely different scenarios.
