Has anyone ever noticed how Vegeta became who he was thanks to Gohan? Vegeta could have easily just said to hell with him after meeting him, Goku, and the others for the first time on Earth and just killed him for being inferior but he didn't. On planet Namek, he saved Gohan from Guldo. Gohan then returns the favor for Vegeta and instead of being grateful, he is angry because Gohan risked his life and winning the battle to save him. He later steps up to take on Frieza and pushes Gohan aside, again, saving his life all while losing his own. Close to the ending of the Cell saga, Gohan saved Vegeta from Cell's blast. Vegeta again steps up against and fails to help, then apologizes to Gohan for it. Entering into the Buu saga, Vegeta is shown to be disappointed in Gohan for not keeping up with his training. Not just because he is a Saiyan, but because he genuinely believes in his capabilities. Later on, when Vegeta believes Gohan to be dead thanks to his actions with reviving Buu, he apologizes again. He also tears into Goku a number of times for not prioritizing Gohan in his life, especially when Kid Buu blows up the planet. It seems as though Vegeta's overall growth from a heartless villain to an actual loving father and ally had a lot to do with Gohan. It would seem Gohan taught him compassion and Vegeta taught him strength through a warrior's eyes. He learned more from Vegeta than Goku in my book.
