It sucks now and I think this video sums up why perfectly.

I am sure he is right about it still being "good" compared to other shows cause there are a lot of TERRIBLE adult cartoons now but it is not what it once was. It adopted full on edge over wholesome moments and all the characters are just variations of the same character to me now so I lost interest awhile ago. I think I stopped watching it around 2009 which would have been season 8.

Oddly enough, American Dad is still really solid.
That is still going? I have not kept up with it in awhile. I always enjoyed it though more than Family Guy cause it poked fun at America in a tongue in cheek manner that was relatable.

I checked the IMDb scores of the latest season and it is only slightly better than Family Guy. I know there was a reason I fell off from the show and stopped caring about it. I just don't remember what it was.

It definitely has its lulls and bad episodes, but I rewatched recently and didn't get bored.

This is because Seth MacFarlane actually has talent, he just wastes it with Family Guy because he feels like he can get away with it.
I feel like he just pulled away from the formula that worked with Family Guy too. He is a talented guy but it seems like other people got into his head.

Family Guy was great between 1999-2009.

Not a big fan of American Dad though and I take Family Guy in it’s prime over it.

He had a formula that worked for both shows but like I said, he didn't stick with it.

Nothing wrong with trying new things, Lord knows the two guys did a lot of different new things with South Park but they didn't stick with what didn't work. It seems like Seth just kind of settled.

Yeah I agree.

South Park still seems to be consistently funny (even though it’s peak for me was the Mid-2000’s seasons) and I haven’t always liked the humor from it or liked every episode that's come out, but at least Trey Parker and Matt Stone found a way to shake things up and try something new with SP.

The Two-Part Cartoon Wars episodes hit harder and ring true more now than ever and I first watched those episodes back in 2008.

I still like it, but can definitely admit it’s not nearly as good as it once was. But I’m easily amused also.

Funny enough I use to hate American Dad, but I love it now and even the episodes I hated back in the day I like now.
