Why I don't really care for Super much

SPOILERS WARNING: This entire thread will be rife with spoilers. If you haven't seen all of Super up to the end of the Tournament of Power, don't read this thread.

The show has its moments, but between them are faults that I can't ignore.

Starting out with the movie arcs wasn't a great start. But that's a minor complaint.

#1: Trunks' plot armor in the Zamasu arc is egregious.

I'm supposed to watch a character who is supposed to be literally 1,000 times weaker than Zamasu and yet, not once, but TWICE he fights him toe-to-toe... and then swallow it without an explanation.

Nah. I can't swallow that. That's BS.

To make matters worse, he uses the "Spirit Bomb" for no reason other than... idk, because Toriyama and TOEI said so?

I mean, Goku did magically learn mind-reading on Namek and Cell magically learned Instant Transmission and I could barely stomach that, but this is too much.

#2: The other Saiyans using the "Tingly feeling in your back" to cheese through the SSJ transformations.

It takes the already established mythos of SSJ and pisses all over it.

It was hard enough to stomach Gotenks cheesing it, but this is even worse.

#3: I just don't like Broly... for a LOT of reasons

Kale turning LSSJ made me cringe.

To make matters worse, Broly is canon now.

Now I have to put up with his annoying fanboys ranting like 8 year olds about how he has unlimited power and is stronger than anyone and now I can't just brush him off as a non-canon gag, cause he's canon... he's a thing now.

#4: Hit is just a lame character.

They set him up so much to be Goku's next rival, only to discard him in the Tournament of Power like that corner of the toilet paper you didn't mean to rip off.

The whole "Oh no, he's getting stronger as he fights" thing was so much cringe.

#5: SSJ Transformations are a dead horse.

Now we got SSJG, SSJB, SSJVB, SSJR, LSSJ, and Ultra Instinct might as well be SSJ4.

So now I'll list the things I actually liked about Super.

1. Beerus is awesome.
2. Jiren is awesome.
3. Goku mixing Kaioken with SSJ was long anticipated and satisfying once it happened.

That's... about it.

Not enough Kefla.
There were so many things wrong with the series, I can't even recall all of them. Them learning to fuse so easily was definitely a reach.

I remember that universe with the 3 girls (Ribrianne I think) that turned into ridiculous caricatures and literally killed people with "the power of love"

Or Roshi fighting at a level literally a billion or mire times out of his depth... because, idfk.

The more I think, the more I remember.

Did you think Kefla had a decent body?

1. Beerus is awesome.
:b1:

Gross. Not only is sexualizing a cartoon weird, but I'm pretty sure those two are early teens, bringing into pedo territory.
Hey, I thought Vegeta was hot when I was growing up. LOL

As for the numbers:
#1: Trunks' plot armor in the Zamasu arc is egregious.
Zamasu was meant to be shown as powerful the same way Supreme Kai was in DBZ. Goku was not meant to be stronger than them but he got to be and thanks to his fight with Beerus (and gaining pink hair for some reason lol) he was able to match up with Zamasu. Ironically enough, I think this might be what drove him to get Goku's body but it was a different timeline and it was never entirely addressed, at least I don't think it was.

#2: The other Saiyans using the "Tingly feeling in your back" to cheese through the SSJ transformations.
This has to do more with Japanese culture than the actual show. It is hard to explain off the top of my head, but this is believed to be where life and energy come from. I know there is a YouTube video explaining it because I thought the same thing, I thought it was lame until I understood why they wrote this into the anime. It makes sense in Japan.

#3: I just don't like Broly... for a LOT of reasons
This was meant to be more of a throwback to Broly than anything and because it didn't eat up a lot of time in the anime, it didn't bother me. A lot of people love Broly, that is why they redid his story and made a new movie for him.

#4: Hit is just a lame character.
I thought Hit was a great character up until they made him look like a piece of crap in the ToP. He's a intergalactic hit man. That in and of itself sounds cool but stretch pants the gray made him look like a pushover.

#5: SSJ Transformations are a dead horse.
This is marketing for you. The show is meant to be more kid friendly and as a result, things will be written to have market value to kids.

Goku is one thing... but there's absolutely no character growth for Trunks, so you have to assume he isn't 1,000 times stronger than the last time we "saw him". Yet, somehow with no explanation or reason, he is.

I'm aware of this belief actually, but it still doesn't excuse them for using it as a way to fast-forward characters through milestones like that. It just trivializes the significance of the transformations.

They used this for Gohan teaching Videl actually, if I remember correctly. That would be an appropriate use of it, not
"Here's SSJ, which took Krillin dying for Goku to unlock and mental breakdown for Vegeta to unlock, SSJ2 AND SSJ3, which took Goku 7 years of otherworld training to unlock... but here they are and as it turns out, all it takes is some basic Ki channeling".

This is the stupidest thing of the entire Super series, and lazy writing all over. First SSJs of DBZ had such tension and excitement around them. Saiyans used to have an actual training and great emotional trauma to achieve this rarity. Cause that's what was supposed to be. But no, let's take all that effort and sweat and fighting and dumb it down to an orgasm in the ass (or a bit above).

What I think it would have been great, is if the U6 Saiyans already had some real combat experience, training and their own hierarchy of power-ups, like own SSJs. And looked like actual Saiyans.

Not to mention Toppo and Jiren
Jiren is some grey retard who does practically nothing for the entire tournament until the end, where he says some bland and generic stuff

Toppo should've been Goku's rival, considering that their rivalry began early in the Zeno xbo. Instead of Toppo going beast in God mode and expanding into his character more, they don't event let him do anything, he just gets eliminated without doing any eliminations, wasted as hell potential. It would be hella more interesting and thematically resonant to have him be the rival.

A "butt orgasm" has to be the greatest description I've seen of it lol

I dislike Super because of the plot holes and inability to properly insert it between the Boo Arc and the End Of Z. Also, the animation quality was awful during the Battle Of Gods and Revival Of F Arcs.
