That's not quite too. Incoming chapter 76 spoilers, don't click if you don't want to be spoiled on chapter 76. If you don't mind being spoiled on chapter 76, you can proceed. And if you're okay with being spoiled on chapter 76, but you don't want to be spoiled on chapter 75, don't worry, I'm only spoiling chapter 76, you may proceed.
It's actually the opposite, Ultra Ego requires a certain personality to wield effectively. Vegeta didn't punch Goku away and insist on fighting Granolah because the power reverted him back, he was *trying* to revert back into his older self in order to use the power effectively.
That's right, this spoiler's got a part two: Electric Boogaloo. I'mma get more explicit here with actual quotes, just figured that deserved a second warning. Also, I take every chance I can in my day-to-day life to say Electric Boogaloo.
Anyway, it's why at the end of the chapter when Granolah's about to finish off Vegeta, Vegeta says "Apologies, Lord Beerus, I couldn't revert to the callous unfeeling man I once was. That God of Destruction power was beyond the scope of a novice like me." And I love that decision, because we're all use to Vegeta losing important matches and it usually always hurts. But here? It's framed that Vegeta lost because he developed too much as a person. How can I be upset when it's essentially highlighting how much growth he's had as a person?
