I'm sorry to hear about your friend, cancer is a total bitch.

You don't have to feel anything, you can sympathize and understand that it sucks, but you're not obligated to feel bad or good. It's an awful disease and it sucks to suffer through it, but you don't suddenly have to make yourself her best friend just because of awful news. It's unfortunate, wish her all the best, and carry on.

She was not a very nice friend to me. There is a reason I stopped talking to her but I still can't help but feel uneasy. Anytime I hear of someone who I knew at one point or another, it bothers me when I hear about them dying or having already died.

I understand, totally, I do the same thing. Be understanding, cancer sucks, but don't open yourself back up to her. Bad friends aren't people you need in your life.

I feel like I might have a weird interaction with my supposed former best friend at work tomorrow. He got drunk on Memorial Day and opined to me that he misses our mutual friend who committed suicide a few years ago. I was pleasant and understanding about it, but then he got into his feelings about it and questioned why I have certain less than positive feelings toward him. I tried to brush it off, but he kept yammering that he heard I talked shit about him. All I said was "F*ck him" in a kind of half-hearted manner. So it might get weird, we'll see.

Suicide is getting all too common these days. We have a mental health crisis happening and everyone ignores it. Some of it is brought on by emotional distress but a lot of it is nutritional issues. My grandpa was an army vet and always said it was the coward's way out.

So that old friend of mine I guess was let out of the hospital and they are letting her go at home. I guess that is a good thing. Just sad anytime you hear of someone dying so young. She wasn't a nice person but I still feel bad for her and her family. I just hope she has made her peace and had a change of heart about a lot of things.

So many people get sick these days with all sorts and the ages seem to be getting younger and younger. Something has to change with diet, lifestyle, and medical practices cause I feel like the standard in America is just making people ill.

Agreed, we do seem to be seeing more and more 'catastrophic' illnesses in people younger and younger. Something has to change, it's too much!
