Absolutely the RPGs. I lean towards them anyway, but they always felt the most had the most variety here. There's obvoiusly Xenoverse and Kakarot, but we had the Legacy of Gokus, Fusions, Attack of the Saiyans, a whole sub-series of card based RPGs. Attack of the Saiyans is beautiful and Fusions has one of my favorite battle systems in any RPG. Pinballing enemies across the battlefield really fits fights in the franchise and just feels so frantic, kinetic from a turn based rpg, and just plain fun.
I like fighting games in general, and maybe that's why DB fighting games don't hit with me. Like Super Dragon Ball Z was absolutely solid and I wish it had gotten more popular. But the fact of the matter is FighterZ is the only one with a legitimate, long lasting competitive scene. Most other DB fighting games just don't priotize balance or deeper gameplay mechanics enough for that to have happened with them. And that's a real shame. It's nice that we have FighterZ (even if it's current state is ummmm.... very questionable.), but I'd love to see a really polished Tenkaichi-esque arena fighter that could hang with the big boys like Gundam Extreme Vs Maxiboost On and Kill La Kill: If in being really deep, excellent arena fighters with their own competitive scenes.
