No joke, I didn't start getting interviews until I started putting no disclosure on race. It is insanity what we are dealing with now

Race and gender should not be included on resumes or job listings. Heck, I'd go a step further and make it so no names are included either. Just a phone number.
Yet there are some unemployed jackasses, that still live at home, that dont think this actually happens. I actually got denied a job once because I wasn't black. They called me back three months later wanting to know if I was still interested because "all three" positions were magically open again. All got fired for various reasons....
Yeah I am begining to think this is why Jay hasn't had any callbacks. He was trying to apply to somewhere closer to where we moved and his name is very white sounding and he is british so that doesn't help. He is extra white. Freaking colonizer!
I was a temp and I was the only white person in the entire building. The floor managers wanted me because I worked my ass off. In fact they came to me with an offer but some new office manager didn't hire me. And just like you said they can't give the jobs away.
It would have been a great place to work and I enjoyed a lot of the folks I worked with but alas it wasn't meant to be
That sucks to hear that. At this point, you can be 1000xs more qualified and still get passed over. Hopefully he gets something good soon. People keep talking about the economy and why businesses are failing, yet they refuse to ignore the elephant in the room. The reason so many national changes are failing is self inflicted. I made most of my money through working through the government and made myself unfireable due to skill set and training. Yet I still have been passed over for one promotion. However, that was a good Ole boy (which are just as bad) and not a DEI promotion. However, the company sees who has the better team and has the higher morale.
They want me to train up for the next promotion and I said "Nah", I can medically retire in a year. Screw them.
Sounds a lot similar to how my cousin was done when he was hired as a temp at Lowes one holiday season. You can guess which temps they kept.
