I'm watching this with my brother and it's actually somewhat enjoyable. Well, aside from Episode 7 where we watched halfway and skipped, and we skipped Episode 8 entirely. We did see the summaries for those episodes though. It's getting more interesting now.
 
I only watched the English version but if the dialog is better in Japanese, it wouldn't surprise me.

The dub of GT is garbage. It’s even worse than the original sub of Z. It’s like they went backwards with it.

Some of the episodes can be a slog and I pretty much hate everything about the Super 17 arc. GT has it’s moments and I stand by Baby being one of the beat DB villains period. Also, Super Saiyan 4 is just the tits. Not only does it look cool af but it solves everything wrong with Super Saiyan 3. All of the benefits without any of the downsides.

Japanese with subs all the way. Only dub I would recommend is Kai, but I still watch that in Japanese anyway. Now go get yourself some GT!

In that case, time to break out the GT box set and switch over to the Japanese audio!
