Apparently a lot of them were paid actors. I guess that would explain the matching tents...

I get confused when ppl go at an LGBTQ+ supporter person who defends Palestine and says "they don't condone homosexuality, what you think of that? " .... *Pause* Gotcha! ... You don't need to go along with what they defend to see that there are women, kids suffering, being killed, being starved to have solidarity with a population... You don't need to have them agree with what you stand for to not condene killing of innocents and a genocide being perpetuated with kids dying in heinous way. Humanity isn't lost because other culture doesn't align with people's progressive views.

They are both killing each other and have been for decades. This war is like 100 years old at this point. Both sides kill children. Both sides kill women. Both sides kill elderly.

From where I am sitting, the US and other nations shouldn't be involved cause it is blood on their hands no matter who they support. What is worse is the US has funded both sides for the last few decades but that is nothing new. It is more sickening to me that the US government is making money off these violent factions.

Yes. But Israel has more power. I'd say it has more responsibility for having more power of destruction. And as such, it's carrying the killing when peace accords have been stretched out to be made before. The Israel population started to protest with the possible Rafah invasion since it's been made clear Netanyahu isn't in for hostage release... And is seeking to see it to an ending. The EU has proposed many cease fire and peace accords. The majority of the countries have condoned the continuation of the war. The IHL condones killings of innocents done without discretion like Israel has done... There are members from the IDF saying kids above the age of 4 should be held responsible already as they are, according to him, capable of taking sides and should be prevented from feeding... The Gaza population, long before the war, had been suffering from economic problems, resources shortages, discrimination, blockades, so much so the human rights with articles heavily comdemned it as a discriminatory regimen.

I honestly don't care what is going on over there when my own country is having problems with economics, health, education, debt, etc. I just don't want our government involved.

I do care since it's people's lives... Childrens dying. I wish US would stop helping the powerful side on mass killing and attend its population needs, as well.

Peace is not normality, war is. That is human history. You don't have to like it but it helps to understand that.

People are dying everywhere. Children, women, ect. every single day. There are slave camps in Africa and China. People being persecuted (put to death) over Christianity in the middle east. North Korea has no issue with killing their own over food rations, including kids. Kids are shot and killed in the ghettos of America on a weekly basis.

Rapes, murders, etc. some of the most horrific things you can imagine never stopped just because we have computers and air conditioning.

Living with a Superman complex wanting to save everyone is just going to make you more and more upset, sad, and angry in life.

If you want to see change, you have to do it where you are and hope to inspire others so it spreads. The governments of the world do not give a crap about children dying. They care about profit, power, and territorial control. The only reason the US even backs Israel is out of convenience for them. Making it easier to access the middle east and eventually take the land or at least gain control of it.

War never changes.

Generally the people who say that as a "gotcha" are responding to the ones who somehow believe that if the war stops, Palestine will suddenly become a haven for these things. Even in my town, I've seen pro-Palestine posters that have said things to the effect of "A free Palestine is one where LGBTQ+ can be free".

Well, it's not acting like a superman who can change everything... It's to feel grieve by other's situations in which injustice is happening and governments are normalizing it. I agree humanity is craved by war, but I don't like to lose the human sentiment that knowing many lives are being taken away, people are suffering endlessly is normality in a way that I become desensitized by that. I may not have any power, but the more humanity we inspire into ppl with power to strive to look it with a human approach that it may not be my family, but it's a life that is being taken out, I think more conscious policies that take a humanitarian approach at the expense of personal greed would be promoted. We need governments with total human emotions who can feel emphatic to the suffering as their politics directly influence that, so the more protests there are, the more demands towards a pushing for obedience to humanitarian law, the more likely it is for we not forgetting who we are. At the end, we are all humans, connected on Earth as one, I believe in interconnectedness... In coexistence looking at everyone without dissent and hatred, without fueling feelings of prejudice. It may never end fully. But it doesn't mean massive improvements in the way we approach and feel situations like this can't have an effect for a more strict push for respect for human lives.

@Giga Hertz

Idk if they believe they'd be respected by the Palestine community. They may be well aware of how they feel towards LGBTQ+. But it may also carry a broader impact of the unfair treatment Palestinians get and the inhumane acts towards them. The Palestinians may not hold the same principles as LGBTQ+ people, but the simple act that a Palestine is given the right to live a human life, without persecution and despair, suffering, reflects into them, perhaps, in a way as they are also minorities that feel to some extent how a biased or hatred, unfair treatment can impact their own lives. So to respect the existence of the Palestinians may reflect in a world that strives for living together, for accepting different ideas, forms of expressions and respect for human lives. It may suggest that the fight for national liberation is tied to a broader set of freedoms that should be available to all citizens, including marginalized communities like the LGBTQ+ population...

Sure, but you have to admit the notion that living under a Hamas and/or Islamic regime being "free" for LGBTQ in Palestine is laughable; which is, again, what that initial notion is about. It's generally not targeted towards the people who care about Palestine as a whole, but those who try to inject all the other stuff into it.

That's not what it is about... Saying "flee to Israel" is turning a legitimate feeling that can have valid meanings into a meme to make fun of those ppl kinda thing...
