Other Blue Lock

I got hooked, and now I'm reading the manga. You're right, it's nothing super special, but it definitely is a lot of fun.
Nice, and i read/watched it because I got into sports anime for a while because it kind of started booming and this was one of the first one I read.

I never heard of it. I see it is newer. I have not watched anything "new" in a while in terms of anime.

Appears to be sports centered so my interest is gone lol :wut:

It's just an over-intense amimeised Hunger Games soccer. It's oddly crazy and entertaining for what it is.

Watched Episode Nagi (the movie, which is pretty much S1 from Nagi's perspective) last night. It was pretty decent. Haven't had a chance to start S2 yet, but apparently the animation quality is... interesting. :serious:

I'm well and truly caught up on the manga. I am way too invested in it for what the premise actually is.

I like Blue Lock a lot, because it's not the typical soccer (we call it football :)) or sports series where everything is about fighting together and team spirit, but also about a more psychological side, choosing the right teammates and tactics to win. This striker-like selfishness, which is totally un-Japanese, is what truly sets it apart from most other series of its kind.

Just read the latest chapter. Kind of hoping this arc comes to an end soon, but wondering how Isagi's going to evolve after all this. Also imagine being the #1 player in Blue Lock getting stopped by Igaguri twice.

I thought the people on r/BlueLock were exaggerating but my gosh the animation quality of Season 2 is appalling. The frame-rate of episode 1 throws me back to when I used to try and play games on really old hardware.
