I preferred it, but I've listened to many arguments of people who don't like it and they make some fair points.
I especially got annoyed at how repetitive the Ginyu theme was. It was relentless for like 15 episodes.
I feel like Vegeta's first SSJ transformation was a big deal.
Imagine if he had unlocked it any later (Or not at all). Things might be very different.
All of Goku's "just in time" arrivals, vs Vegeta & Nappa, vs the Ginyu Force, & vs Frieza were all very definitive moments.
My first full watch through of of DBZ season 1 was on Toonami, so I was introduce by the Drummond version.
Then, when I watched the entire series on DBZ.TV [Long since defunct since Kai & Funimation took over and tried to erase everything connected to Faulconer and everything streaming DBZ in...
One thing I think you're overlooking is that I'm not quite on "the side" you think I am.
I play Devil's Advocate sometimes and I make my best attempts to empathize. Sometimes I argue on the side I disagree with to keep the people on "my side" honest and correct.
Like I said, I'm a far right...
I feel like virtually all vintage games are put on a nostalgia and innovation pedestal. The roles they played in their era are unrivaled and historically important, but by quality metrics, fall short in just about every area.
It's kind of like how Hendrix is almost unanimously considered the...
I looked up that term "Blue Line" and it seems I misinterpreted the context clues on that one.
I interpreted it (Wrongly) as a line that represents this idea that cops, due to camaraderie, wont hold each other accountable, therefore making themselves above the law.
As it turns out "Blue Line"...
Well, the site became a shitshow pretty fast.
I was on it during its first couple of years when I was 15 & 16. It was pretty cool back then. The interactive social games and avatar currency economy was really unique. To this day, there's still really nothing like it.
But the community went...
I'm tempted to grade those Pokemon Promos though, namely the Ancient Mews.
They go for $100-150 a pop if graded 9.7 or better. I'm pretty confident they would, and quite possibly all 10.0.
Word has it, my friends grandfather who collected Pokemon cards, always wore gloves handling them and...
I wont ever part with them. They're childhood memories.
...but if I humored the hypothetical of my wife giving me an ultimatum to sell them, they'd probably only be worth at most $200 USD.
Like Pokemon, most of the oldschool cards have only gone down in value, with a select few special cases...
For real though.
By what metrics are we comparing these two games?
Replayability: D2 1,000-fold
Game-play depth: D2 by a landslide
Personalization: D2 by far
Skill & Technique required: D2 by far
Copies Sold: Ocarina 7.6m vs D2 4m
However, consider that D2 is a more niche game and this...
Hate to be so blunt... but
-extremely overrated game backed mostly by nostalgia.
It was a good game, but it gets more credit than it's earned because nostalgia.
You should watch the first two seasons of the anime.
-but you go into it accepting a few things
1. That virtually all disputes can be and are settled by a damn card game.
2. That thanks to the "Power of Friendship" and "The Heart of the Card", Yugi always wins via Deus Ex Machina...
