A few fire trucks were sent out and the first thought I had was "someone started a fire"
Any time I've heard a siren I've gone straight to the breaking news bits of the news. With everything that's been going on with fires this year, I'm staggered at just how many people are being so stupid as to fire off fireworks right next to fields full of dry brush...yeah, let's have another set of fires.
Yeah that just seems stupid to do in Arizona right now.
I understand people wanting to celebrate a holiday, but you'd think common sense could prevail here...find better ways to celebrate for this year...
Aren't there laws against it there? I mine you'd think there would be with the high risk of a fire starting.
As long as you're on your own property it's ok, I believe, or as long there's a license for any arranged gatherings (not this year, obviously). Other than that, it is illegal to shoot them off in brush or desert areas without a proper licensed gathering taking place. I imagine there'll be a few caught for that, as well, but common sense is so lacking given everything going on.
That was quite the night. Spent the time working on projects and trying to regain feeling in my feet as my dog spent 90% of her time attached to them and the cats hid...so, that was fun.
