Dragon Ball GT Baby could control Gohan and Goten, but not Trunks?

I could have missed something here but I don't remember this being explained or addressed in GT.

Trunks was able to resist his control but both Gohan and Goten could not. Is there a reason behind this that I am missing? He was able to control Trunks for a very brief (lol) moment in time but he was able to get out of it. I was thinking that maybe him powering up and unmatching the levels of Baby had something to do with it but I don't think this kind of fusion works the same way as the fusion dance one.
 
The only thing I can think of to explain this is that Trunks was much stronger than both of them at this time. Gohan had become such a waste of breath and Trunks was always a little stronger than Goten.

Thinking how they kind of left Gohan prior to Super, it is no wonder they had to reestablish his strength again before the Tournament of Power.

Also, just dawned on me as well... Vegeta had to overcome mind control so maybe this is a bit of a throwback to that.

I believe it could’ve been that baby wasn’t fully powered yet, thus didn’t have enough strength to control Trunks. However when fully developed he could control both Goten and Gohan.

Yeah, I'm assuming Baby grew in power between incidents. I think the subtext of GT is that Gohan is still the strongest Saiyan.
