Dragon Ball Characters Introduced In Dragon Ball

Was anyone else interested in seeing the backstories of the characters from Dragon Ball that were already in Dragon Ball Z?

I remember when I first watched Dragon Ball, and I was interested that Oolong of all characters was one of the first characters in the entire Franchise. I also liked seeing Krillin and Chi Chi for the first time when they were both children.

We kind of got the backstory in a way for Chi Chi but not so much with her mother or what happened there. At least I don't remember them mentioning it in great detail.

I always wished they'd made some sort of mini-series or movie about Roshi and Gohan, all about their backstories, etc...felt like that would have been a nice detour for them to take.

I just meant that since everyone watched Dragon Ball Z first, it was interesting seeing how some characters we already knew in DBZ first appeared in Dragon Ball. I do agree that I feel like we never got to explore the pasts of certain characters in general, however.

Agreed, and I enjoyed a lot of the history of those characters in DB, like Tien Shinhan/Tenshinhan and the Crane Master, his mysterious aura in DB prior to becoming a bit more friendly with Goku as he went his own way.

I'm interested in alot of those characters too. I know Oolong and Puar were classmates.

Honestly, nah. Even Piccolo, the green pointy-eared guy who clearly had an interesting history with Goku, I didn't care what his past was. Goku, Bulma, Roshi, Krillin, etc., when I first watched I didn't care about their backstory at all. Gohan was kidnapped by a monkey man, and they needed to get him back. I was like 4 when I started watching DBZ, so that's probably why.

When I was a teenager, Fasha being Goku's mother was my head canon.

Selypa being Goku's mother is a rumor that has been around forever, probably because she was the only female Saiyan around at the time.

I know Oolong and Puar were classmates.

They both attended Shape-shifting Kindergarten together until Oolong was expelled for stealing his teacher's panties.

I wish we had more time with the Crane School circa Dragonball. I love the feud between Tien and Tao Pai Pai.
